2nd Trimester

so i told my principal today

when i said i was just about 14 weeks his draw dropped :)

but he is super excited for me, said the news made his day, and is a man who will talk anything baby-  he has a 2 yr old and his wife is due in march and he started talking about making the big girl room and shopping for it last night at 9 and so on..

so i am glad that is done, now just to tell my department (i think next friday- we have a non-school sanctioned holiday party at someones house which is fun) and my students (prob. the day before xmas break I will wear my "Due in June maternity shirt :) )

I feel better and much less conspicuous (I feel like I have been out so much- even though I guess I really haven't)

Re: so i told my principal today

  • yeah I told ppl at more than 15 weeks and they were shocked I kept it hidden so long!  It did feel great to not have to hide anything anymore!

  • It is exciting when your job is really happy for you..I was so nervous telling my principal I was PG..B/c this will be  2 years in a row I don't finish out the school year (I was put on bedrest first week of Feb. for the boys)...Thankfully she was really happy for me...

  • That's good that he's good with it. When I told my manager her response was mean. She said and I quote "why in the world would you get pregnant again!? Oh my god!" I wished I was able to give her a punch in the face, but instead I smiled and walked out.

  • Carly! I am so glad to see you over on 2nd tri! I'm about an hour away from you in the Lehigh Valley!

Isn't it such a relief when your principal knows?

  • hey runner!!! I am so happy to be over here :)

it does make such a difference- and I feel for those of you who had negative reactions from your boss- that would have crushed me and made me have anxiety issues.

now I can't wait for the secret to be completely out...

  • All the adults at school knew, but none of the kids until 21 weeks. (I teach kindergarten). That was the hardest part. Now all they talk about is the baby. They say "shh.. we have to be quiet, we'll wake the baby". "How is the baby today?". THEY ARE IN LOVE. Its adorable.

  • Yay!  It does feel great when it is finally out there in the open

That is sooo cute! I wish my kindergarteners were like that. I'm the school social worker so I'm not telling the kids that I work w/ for as long as possible. I don't want any of them trying to use my belly as a target and try to hit me when they get mad. Obviously, not all the kids I work w/ are violent but it's not like I can tell some and not others. I'm just gonna wait and see when they notice lol!

  • i would have totally waited as well with that age- but it sounds adorable!!!

I have high schooler's  (a couple of whom are pg) and I feel like they will be onto me, and I want to avoid the whole 'is she isn't she' stuff and just come out with it :)
