RF carseats...how many mirrors?

LO#1 will still be RF when #2 arrives, do I need a 2nd mirror to see both of them? #1 will be the middle, 2 will be on the end...

Re: RF carseats...how many mirrors?

  • Need? No. But I found it was nice to have one for each of them. Mine were not next to each other - DD1 behind driver, DD2 behind passenger - so one mirror could not be placed to see both at the same time. They liked having their own, too, it entertained them when we traveled.

  • I like having 2 mirrors for both kids. Both of them are still RFing and we still use 2 mirrors. They are at an age now where they like to see themselves in the mirrors and I like to see what they are doing. We won't be ditching them until we switch them FFIng (not sure when that will be).
  • Both of mine are rear facing and we have a mirror for each of them.  I like to be able to see them both and there is no where to place a mirror where I could see both of them in one.

  • We have a mirror for each. DS#1 will still be RF for another 6 months, so it's worth the $12 to be able to see each of them

  • I just bought a 2nd mirror, they are really cheap ;) But DS1 is behind the driver, DS2 behind the passenger.

This. Both of mine will be RF so I just bought a second mirror for $10.

  • I also have heard that mirrors are unsafe. I've never used one. I have never even wished I had one.

It never becomes safe because any object in your car can be a projectile in an accident.  The thing is though, unless you keep your car and trunk empty, there are probably quite a lot of things that could be projectiles so it's up to you to decide.  I am thinking of getting the Britax mirror because it attaches around all 4 sides of the headrest so I don't think it could come off in an accident.
