i am so nervous already! But I will feel so much better once this is over with! For those of you past this step, was this done at your home or at your agency office? Any advice?
Had ours last week and it went better than I thought......they asked mainly about my childhood and my relationships with my sibilings then and now and how we were disiplined and good and bad memories. We did it at their office. It really sounds worse than what it actually is............BUT we all have been there and we have ALL been nervous. Good Luck and once it is done you can put a big check mark next to it and mark it DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had all of our interviews (we did 3, one each alone and one together) at our house. I found it similar to a job interview, but about our families and our childhoods. The best advice I have was some I got before our interviews from ladies here: remember that the social worker wants you to get your baby, and they are not looking for you to make a mistake, they are trying to get to know you.
Good luck and congrats on getting one more step done!
Like the pp said, they ask about your childhood, any bad experiences, how you made it through those bad times, etc
They also asked stuff like how I met my husband, what qualities in him I found appealing, stuff like that.
It was done in my home and it was a very casual converstaion of sorts - one that lasted 2.5 hours. But, like I said, it was more conversation than it was like an interview - so those hours just flew by.
