Lurker here! Hello. I live in south Texas and it gets suuuper hot here in the summer. DD is 17 months and still rear facing. However, in my car there are no vents in the back seat and it gets really hot back there. On just a warm day her hair and back were soaked in sweat while the AC is on full blast and I am shivering cold in the front. Her safety is #1 priority to me so keeping her rear facing is important but having her sweating like that on a warm day is scary to me as well. We are not even close to the hot summer yet. Anybody else have this problem? any tips or suggestions?

You need to reangle your vents. Angle them off of you and aim them high and towards the back of the car. That'll help her to get some air flow back there. Though, honestly, carseats are hot regardless of how they're facing.

I get the concern, and it just plain sucks having a sweat soaked kid. The summer DD1 was about 15-18 months it was 110-120 here every day in July and I felt horrible putting her in that car seat. It was the only time I considered switching her FFing ea
