Britax Frontier 85 vs 90

I was going to purchase the Britax frontier 85 for DD.  Then I noticed that they are coming out with the 90 in June.  Anyone with extensive car seat knowledge know whether it is worth waiting for or should I go ahead and get the 85?  I have looked but other than it goes up to 90 pounds, I can't send a tremendous amount of difference.

Re: Britax Frontier 85 vs 90

  • Well, my 5-going-on-6 year old is still about 43, pounds, so it wouldn't be an issue for us. He's tall, around 80%, and he won't be anywhere near 85 pounds by the time he's out of a booster. It might depend on the size of your kids, though.

  • Unless it is a harness to booster seat, I do not foresee needing it up to 85-90  lbs.

A booster is needed until 4'10".  My 7 year old is about 70% for height and is only 50 inches and maybe 55 lbs.  There is no way in the next

  • Sorry - I should have been clearer. Do y'all see any difference between the two seats other than the higher weight limit? DD is a peanut so I am not worried about hitting the weight limit. :) thank you guys!!!

  • I know the new frontier 90 offers click connect which makes install with seat belt really easy. They recently changed the weight limits of the latch system and they combine the weight of the car seat and the child. I'm no where near a booster but I will b
