What can I eat?

Is anyone else getting super frustrated with their limited food options?

I can't eat anything too salty because of swelling. I can't eat pizza, hamburger, spicy food, salad dressing or pastas without the worst heartburn.
I can't eat cheese because of constipation.

My poor DH is trying so hard to find me things to eat but I know he's frustrated. I'm so picky that most veggies are out of the question so that leaves fruit.

I've started losing weight at my doctors appts. Nothing major or concerning but I'm ready to enjoy a good meal again.

  • I feel like I could have written this. I'm so tired of feeling like crap I literally have to force myself to eat because I just don't enjoy it or the after effects. I'm so ready for this little boy to be here so I can eat again.

  • I don't have a problem with the type of foods I eat, but it's really frustrating that I can't eat a full meal. I get really full to the point of feeling sick after just a few bites, and then I get hungry again not even 30 minutes later. I miss eating a no

  • I found with heartburn that cereal and milkshakes helped. I was eating egg sandwiches too. Try an antacid before eating. My feet just started swelling too. I was at my brother's for dinner the other day and he had pizza for us. i ate some and just drank s

  • This pregnancy was the first time I ever had heartburn/indigestion and now I completely understand why there are 50 different heartburn/indigestion meds out there! I can't even drink orange juice anymore :(

  • Graham crackers have been my snacks the last couple weeks. Fresh/frozen fruits have lots a fiber and goodness, you could have smoothies if that's appetizing. And I just sleep with a bottles of Tums o my nightstand.  Good luck! PS the heartburn goes a
  • For some reason dairy trigers my acid reflux. Boo, because it really does help heartburn. I have had a lot of success with smoothies from Jamba or Robeks.

  • Thanks ladies! Peanut butter is definitely out though. Heartburn is instant with that. Smoothies sound good. The Zantac just doesn't last long enough. Maybe I'll try Pepcid. I've been through 3 bottles of tums this pregnancy and let's just say it is not h

  • I'm frustrated but its because I have gestational diabetes. I can eat all kinds of stuff without heartburn and indigestion, but I'm not able to eat it because of my blood sugar. I really really want to pig out on carbs!!
  • Meh, you can still eat a ton more than those with GD. At least we are nearing the end. And pick up some Pepcid. GL

  • I'm sorry you're having this problem. Something that I have weekly is high fiber pasta with sauted spinach. No sauce, just a teaspoon or 2 of olive oil, a sprinkle o salt and pepper, garlic powder, Panko breadcrumb, and a little parm cheese. It doesn't gi
  • Since I have had no appetite and cheese is the thing that goes down consistently, I've been taking a colace every night and a couple of fiber gummies.  I also take a pepcid before bed so I don't wake up with the heartburn and papaya enzyme extract
