Nighttime feeding

My 5 week old DS still wakes up every 2-3 hrs at night at which point we give him a 3oz bottle. During the day he will sleep hrs if hes in our arms. I usually feed him each time he wakes during the night but could he be waking just because he is in his crib and used to being rocked or held to sleep? Should I be feeding him each time he wakes? I'm not looking for hunger clues at 3am because I'm barely thinking. Should I be?
