Last week we finally found out that it's a girl - yay Team Pink! We're really excited but are having a little bit of trouble deciding on a name.
So far our frontrunner is Isabel, with Izzy as a nickname, BUT my hesitation is that Isabel/Isabelle is so popular. I also have a popular name, so I know how annoying it can be to be one of 5 kids with the same name in your class/group of friends/office.
I'm a FTM and most of my friends don't have kids yet, so I personally don't know any little Isabels. What about you all - are there tons of Isabels running around? I might post this on the Baby Name board as well, but thought I'd get the August mamas opinions first. Thanks!
Re: How many do you know...
Yes, there are lots of little Isabels around. I know two under age five, with three more who have Isabel as a middle name. And I don't know that many little kids personally.
Remember that Isabel's popularity is even higher than it looks on lists

Both of my kids have a few in their classes, but I hear Madison, Avery, Ava, etc. much more.
I think it is such a pretty name.
I don't personally know any little kids named Isabelle, but I don't know that many little kids.
I can tell you I was one of 4 Sarah's in my class growing up. I hated being Sarah [LastInitial], but it wasn't *that* big of a deal. For reference, Sa

My Blog: Decorate This
We use a small daycare center (12-15 kids per class/age group so about 100 kids total. There is one Isabelle/a in each class and two in one of them (one goes by Izzy and the other by Bella).
I also know maybe 3-4 young Isabelle/a's outside of da
I would also recommend spelling it Isabelle- Isabel in my opinion looks like it's spelled wrong.
Also, I know an Isabella but not an Isabelle. I don't think my son has any Isabelle's in his class either.
