Pregnant after a Loss

XP: Really rough 24 hours...

Hope you guys don't mind me venting about baby stuff here as well as on PAL...I just need your support.

Kiran did not sleep for longer than half an hour at any one time last night, the gas was so bad. ?The thermometer trick I had such high hopes for didn't work at all for us, I had to hold and soothe him all night. ?Then this morning, he threw up everything from his 7:00 feeding. ?At 10:00 he threw up again, and when I thought he was done, five minutes later he projectile vomited all over my face and neck. ?I am so worried about his g.i. issues, this really doesn't seem normal, but the pediatrician said to wait and see. ?He has had one feeding since where he only ate for 10 minutes and then went back to sleep, so we're watching him to see.?

And to add extra stress and frustration, if anyone remembers the saga of my husband trying to get his driver's license (he never learned to drive), first he needed to get a physical for the learner's permit, then he failed the vision test and had to get new glasses, then he failed the parallel parking on the road test. ?We bundled up the baby this morning and went to try the road test again in the pouring rain, and it turned out we have a brake light out and they wouldn't even let him take the exam! ?It was so frustrating, I don't know if the light went out between the last time he tried three weeks ago and now or if they just noticed it today because it was dark and rainy, but we are beyond fed up. ?This whole process has taken four months so far. ?Now we'll have to wait another month for the next available road test appointment, and the baby and I will have to be in the car any time we need to get anything. ?:-(??

ETA: ?He just threw up his last feeding again. ?The pediatrician has evening hours at another location, so they'll see us at 7:30 tonight. ?Please think good thoughts for us, I've been crying all day. I just want him to be well.

  • Oh no!  I'm so sorry!  The first few weeks with baby are the toughest and to add in driving trouble doesn't help.

My only attempt at advice is: I'm assuming that you are BFing - have you taken anything out of your diet?  Veggies, dairy, wheat?  One thing at a time, don't cut them all out at once.  It takes a few days for everything to work their way through your and Kiran's system but it may be worth a try.

I'm glad you still come over here and vent.  We're here to support you!!

  • Sorry you had a crappy day :(  I hope your little guy feels better soon.
  • oh no...i hope they can help when you see the doctor.  poor little guy.  and, i'm so sorry too about dh and the car situation.  i can only imagine how frustrating that is.  big hugs and keep us posted.
  • Oh no!  That's a whole lotta frustration to handle on no sleep.  I really hope the pedi works some magic tonight and Kiran bounces right back.

The DMV does suck year round.  Around here, (and we have plenty of experience flunking driver's tests at Chez Newt), you go to any of the metro locations (we heard from the local teenagers that the examiners in the city are nicer).  Is there another branch that could take your DH earlier?  You two have been great sports about this, but seriously.  It's time for the state of Pennsylvania to take its foot off your necks!

  • Aw hun, I'm so sorry - you really have a lot on your plate right now.   I hope the doc can give you some help and that Kiran will feel better soon.   And then maybe mommy can get some sleep.   Hang in there, I will be thinking good thoughts for you and looking forward to an update.   HUGS.

  • What a horrid day.  I'm so sorry.  It sounds like things can only get better.  GL tonight and let us know what the pedi says.  It doesn't sit right with me either...

     HUGS

  • I am so sorry that things aren't going smoother.  If I lived closer to you, I would gladly hold Kiran for as long as you needed me.  I'm so sacrificial ;)

Can you bypass your ped and call a GI doc?

  • ((Big Hugs))  I am so sorry things are rough right now.  I hope they get better and your little one gets some relief.

  • I'm so sorry you're having a hard time. I'm sure it is so exhausting. ((hugs))
  • I'm sorry you are having such a tough time.  (((Hugs)))
