My DD was born on the 4th of July. I know that is a long ways a way, but I don't like to procrastinate. I plan to have her party the 22nd of June because we are going out of town. Is it wrong for me to not want to go patriotic? I totally want to do it up all pink and purple. I really dislike that her birthday is on the 4th for many reasons.
my birthday is on 4th of July and i love it. Growing up i got themed parties (that were not patriotic) but i do remember my mom making my cake one year that had blueberries and strawberries shaped like the flag.
DH bday is the 5th of July. I don't know that he had themed parties, but when we started dating, his bday was separate from any 4th of July celebration.
why do you feel you'd have to go patriotic? I know a few kids born around Christmas and their parties aren't red & green. I don't see why it being around/on the 4th means you "have" to go patriotic.

Not at all, do whatever you want! I'm super jealous though, I reaaaally wanted mine to come on the 4th but he didn't come until the 14th. I guess I can still get all patriotic and do Bastille Day
My sons bday is June 24th and last year we did red, white, and 2 and went all out patriotic so that's an idea for next year. I got all decorations for 90 % off the previous year.
