Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Cloth diaper or disposable diaper

I just posting this just out of curiosity...nothing more. I am a disposable diaper mom and know of a couple people that do cloth diapering. I am not judging anyone for any responses as I hope no other mommies judge anyone for what they choose to do for their babies. I am just curious as to how many mommies/bumpies out there do one or the other.

I don't think cloth diapering will ever be something I will want to do but just wondering if cloth diapering is really as great as some people make it out to be.

Re: Cloth diaper or disposable diaper

  • I'm a disposable diaper mom and very happy with my decision.  We researched  A LOT before we decided for sure to go with DDs.  I think there are pros and cons with both and the decision has to be what works best for you and your lifestyl

  • I used DD's with my FB, and it was just frustrating to spend all the money on something I was just throwing out. She had a rash all the time and buying for us and daycare was expensive.

This time around we switched to CDing and I love it. It's ha

  • We do cloth, and LOVE IT! We use BumGenius.

Starting out, we chose cloth to save money. I honestly thought they would be sub-par to disposables .

Wow, was I wrong. Cloth diapers work FAR BETTER than disposable! We use d

  • We use cloth (prefolds and covers) and only use disposables at night and if traveling.

I'm a anomaly in that we use a service.  They pick up dirty diapers and drop off clean ones once/week.

  • We CD but will use sposies if needed. We hate them though and even DH prefers the CD these days.  We don't have blow outs with the CD but if I do use a sposie I usually use a CD cover to contain a blow out.

I had my moments of doubt at first

  • Cloth here, and we love it. DH was willing to try it, but now he is an enthusiastic supporter.

With the truckload of laundry we do anyway, another load is no big deal. The diapers are adorable, we don't get up the back blow outs like we did

I have one in cloth diapers and two in disposables.

Eryn is in cloth, we have quite the collection.  She will be 8 months tomorrow.

Mallorie is two months and is in disposable diapers.  She will be moved into cloth probably

  • We use cloth, and disposables at night.  It took us a while to get going at first - when LO was young, he would get a rash within 24 hours of putting on disposables, even when changed every 2 hours. He just has SUPER sensitive skin and the dispo

  • I love CDs. I don't like fragrances/chemicals and couldn't afford eco disposables, so that was the start of the decision. Once I started building a stash I thought they were so cute. I even brought a bunch to the hospital so I could get pics of her in the

  • We cloth diaper and are so happy with our decision! It really isn't that much more laundry and I know exactly what's on my DDs bum. Besides all the advantages they come with, they are way cuter than sposies, IMO!

  • We CD and love it. We use Alva Baby pocket diapers now, for the NB phase we used prefolds and covers. I love how much money we save and how darn cute the prints are! It makes changing diapers fun.
  • We cloth diaper and I love it, as does my husband. We started out using prefolds and covers from a service, mostly because I was nervous about trying to get a laundry routine down while recovering from my section, then we switched to the Flip system, a

  • I've done both.  We used disposables on DS1 and have been using CDs on DS2.  In theory disposables a slightly more convenient than cloth because you don't have to wash, but really once we got our routine down we love our cloth.

  • We CD and love it!  We started with a CD service for the first 3 months and that was awesome.  Their prices (here anyway) would be about the same if we used high end disposable diapers (Pampers, Huggies, etc.).  We chose to buy our own stas

  • I have a bunch of Bumgenius and i love using them (and would prefer to cloth diaper) but DD gets a bad rash from it so we are in disposables. :(

  • I did not CD DD, but I am CDing DS.  I love it!  CDs are soo much better...no rashes, no blow outs (no garbage :)
