Toys in LO's Room?

We have a play area in our basement...but we spend the majorityof our time upstairs. (It's still freezing where we live so the basement, even with the heat, is too cold to play usually)The upstais has our bedroom as well as DS's bedroom and our main living area. We have toys up here as well, but I wanted to put some toys in DS's room to declutter the living room.

What are your thoughts on having toys in LO's room?

My stepdaughter has all her toys in her bedroom, so I don't see a problem in it but she is 6. I don't want DS to not sleep because he has all his toys in there. He will be in his crib until he can get out of it, but I'm not sure if just seeing all his toys will affect him. I don't remeber what we did with my stepdaughter.

My only concern is that we are going to TTC and do IVF again in November...so if we do get pregnant I'm not sure how we are going to split up the rooms and we may have to rearrange everything and I'm not sure how DS will adjust.

Thoughts?

Yes, we have a toy bin type thing to put most of them in. He's pretty laid back, so I hope he will be like all your LO's and not care when it's nap or bedtime. We shall see.

On another note, I just got done putting things away in his room an
  • Ian's always had toys in his room. I just got a new shelf for everything last week and he can actually see it from his bed now. It's not affected him in the least.

  • We used to have toy "stations" in the living room, her bedroom, and our bedroom as well.  That way she could be entertained and be with us at the same time.  We just moved and now she has a play room, and limited toys elsewhere.  BUT she
