Garage Sales.

I know not everyone on here is going to be big on throwing or shopping at garage sales. 

But. We are planning on having one in the next few weeks, when i find a dry saturday. We have a lot of crap that we need to get rid of/sell. A lot of it is fairly nice and I'd like to make a little bit of money. Also our parents are bringing some of their stuff.

So, give me your best tips.

Also, our house is down a driveway past a few other houses.. I was trying to think if I should put a couple things at the road w the sign or if they might just get stolen that way.

Anyways, advice please.

    Put ads up at your local store on their bulletin boards

    Put an ad up on your local Craigslist and give a location for your neighborhood (not exact address). You can have people email you for your exact address.

    I second everything that PP's have said.. The only thing I would add is try to sell the bigger or more expensive things on Craigslist first as you will usually get a lot more money from it that way. If you hav

    Ditto pp. Definitely advertise. I'd put something down at the road (even balloons would work). I hate when I can't find a garage sale.

    Make sure things are organized. Sort clothes by size. Put bigger/nicer things where people will see them as soon

    Put an ad in Craigslist....(and yes please put your address, I don't know why you wouldn't, it is just like placing an ad in the newspaper garage sale section)

    If you want to spend the money, put an ad in the local newspaper.
