Carseat help for 16 month old!

I have a 16 month old and we are currently using the car seat from when he was an infant. However, he is so long now, his feet/legs cannot sit comfortably. It's time for a new seat!

I need help because I am not sure what kind of seat would be best for him. At his appointment about two months ago, he was 22 pounds. I don't feel comfortable having a seat facing the front, but I need a seat that is more than enough room for him.

Suggestions are appreciated! As far as our budget, I'd like to stay under $100, if possible. Thanks!

Like... you are using the infant seat?  The one that actually can be moved into and out of the car?

  • Oh, Lord. Okay, lady. Thank you for your help. If you don't believe this is a real thread, you can excuse yourself.

My daughter, who is a preschooler now, was able to use her infant seat up until this time. I'm not asking you to visualize a 16 mo

  • I can't imagine a 16 month old in an infant seat. We switched DS from his at 5 months because he hated the recline. We use this seat for DS in my car:

  • It is perfectly safe to use an infant car seat well past the first year so long as your child is still below the height and weight limits of the seat. Many infant car seats follow the 1" rule, allowing children to fit in the car seat so long as there is

  • We have a Cosco Apt 40, and it can stay rear facing until 40 pounds, I believe. It costs around $55. This is the only carseat we have, and DS is perfectly fine in it. He's ridden in it for some exremely long car rides and didn't complain.

  • Goodness people. Just give the lady some help. There are plenty of kids in DS toddler room that are small enough to still be in the infant seat. DS didn't reach 30inches till 15 months (the height limit for his seat) and he still hasn't reached the lb

  • The Radian is great for extended rear-facing.  It sits back farther and has lots of leg room.  My daughter RF in it until she was 3.5.  They are more than $100, though.  But they can be used for years.

  • An infant seat is the safest kind of car seat, so awesome that you could use it so long.

Defiintely go with a Cosco seat, they're cheap and well rated. You can get them at Wal Mart. GL!
