June 2012 Moms

Which of y'all SAH and who works?

Me, I became a SAHM after DD#2 was born in June... I worked since I was 16 so it's definitely a whole new experience for me to SAH. For those of you who work, what do you do for a living? I worked in retail until I was 18 and then I started at a mortgage company where I worked for 8 years until I had DD#2. For those of you who SAH, do you plan on going back to work some day? If so, when? I plan on going back to work when DD#2 starts school, but I still have plenty of time to think and a lot can change during that time so we will see!

  • It's so interesting to see what everyone does! I agree with PP that women going back to work in a fast paced industry that is constantly evolving is pretty tough.

I definitely would NOT go back to the mortgage industry unless we w

  • I have a one year mat leave and decided not to go back to my FT job. A job I used to work on call for offered me a PT position for when I return to work. I go back there in just over a month.

I went back to work when my daughter was four months old.  I am a teacher so you really can't beat the hours, days off, and summer vacation.  I am so looking forward to spending the two months of summer home with her.

  • I am a hairdresser in a small town. The salon I work at has 2 other stylist which both are moms with young kids. I am able to put in 3 full days and stay home the rest of the time. I love it because I feel I get the best of both worlds. I get to stay home
  • I'm an RN on night shift, 12 hours shifts three days a week, though the days vary from week to week.  It's nice in that DD only has to go to daycare once, maybe twice a week so I can sleep (if I work two days in a row) but I am a zombie most days
