a weird poopy question

My 15 month old has had diarrhea for 5 days now and when I called the doctor she said it's a tummy bug and it has to run it's course. She said if she still has loose stools in 2 weeks to set up an appointment. We've been keeping her hydrated and incorporating bananas, applesauce, cheese and toast to try to bind her up a bit. But I'm concerned because there have been black flakes in her stool, they resemble the skins of black beans. Any idea what this could be? There are a lot in some diapers! Thanks for the poopy help!!

My almost 12 month old has had the same symptoms for 5 days as well. Has she had any blueberries? That can resemble skins of black beans when they come out the other end.

I hope she feels better soon...I've seen enough poopy diapers f

she's actually had black beans... but it was 2 weeks ago! Could they stay in her colon for that long?

DS has black stuff in his poop after eating bananas.

hmm... she never has before this, but we have been giving her bananas to help bind her up.
