Ugh, my fellow mommas!
Im sure by now many of you on this board have HaD your babies but this momma isn't due till the 30th ![]()
I'm feeling overwhelmed and stressed and basically just need to vent! I am a second timer with an almost two year old toddler. Luckily, I'm a stay at home mom - just what I want. However, I'm beginning to stress out which is the worst thing for me right now. I was diagnosed it hypertension at 21 wks and have been on the highest dosage of labetelol medication since! I had post partum pre-e with my son and literally feel like a ticking time bomb this time around. To be safe, my doc has seen me weekly since 33 wks and has taken urine samples and blood samples each time. Also, for the past 3 weeks she has sent me in for weekly ultrasounds and NSTs. I was happy to know she is being proactive but then I received a bill from the hospital. Each of those visits (and I'm due for another tomorrow) are just under $500 that we need to pay out of our pocket after insurance. I can only imagine what the L&D charges will be after having my daughter! I was on MA with my son and didn't have to pay any hospital bills.
Here is what I need advice on. I plan on calling my doc tomorrow and asking if the ultrasounds and NSTs are necessary bc we can't exactly afford it. Is this a bad idea? I guess I'm just feeling a little annoyed because I was induced with my son (bc my Bp went a little high) and even though my BP is crazy high still while on medication she won't even consider inducing me until after my due date. I'm 3cm dilated, 70% effaced and have lost both my mucus plug and I THINK my bloody show as well (mucus with brown blood after getting membranes stripped). I am currently 38 wks 4 days.
Thanks, moms. I needed to get that off my chest!
Re: Pre-baby blues - advice needed!
I am with you on being a my wits end with this pregnancy. I am scheduled for rcs next Wednesday. I cannot wait! My first was delivered at 38w6d, so I have never been this pregnant.
In terms of the financial situation, I don't understa
It can't hurt to call and ask how imperative the u/s's and NST's are. Especially if you explain that you're paying OOP, I am sure they would let you know if the visits are absolutely necessary or can be skipped.
As for your annoyance... So
