Anyone scared to commute?

I live outside of Chicago maybe about 40 minutes. My sister and I are supposed to be taking the train to Chicago. Honestly, with all the craziness going on I'm kind of scared to get on a train or go to Chicago. I hope I don't affend any Chicago moms. I'm kind of scared that there will be some copy cats. All the crazys come out when something horrible like the Boston marathon happen. Am I just being silly?

    can't stop your life.  Its terribly scary, but you have to have faith in our Police/FBI, etc. and just live.

    I was just talking to my Mom about this yesterday.  I think having kids makes you more sensitive to risks and anxiety.  My train was late the other day and I spent about 15 minutes underground on the platform. I kept looking around and tried

    I would perhaps worry about running in or attending the Chicago marathon at this moment in time.  But other than that I'm not easily made anxious about crazy things that can happen in this world.  Given where we live (US vs. say Syria) we're

    I may be hypervigilant but it wouldn't stop me from living my life.  Less than a year after 9/11 a few of us went to D.C.  2 weeks after the metro and bus bombings in Madrid and London DH and I vacationed in London.  We even rode the metro

    Your fears are justified and understandable.  If you aren't comfortable going, then you don't have to go... But my thoughts are to keep living your life because we are unfortunately realizing that these events are unpredictable and random.

    Yes I think you're being silly. We live in one of the safest countries in the world. Besides, don't they say that if you stop living your life and run around scared all the time the terrorists have won?
