Would you ever induce for a non medical reason? My boss at work is getting induced later this week 10 days before her due date because her OB is on vacation the week before she is due.
Oh and her OB said she will likely end up with a c/s anyway because her pelvic bones aren't "stretchy".
I swear I had to bite my tongue! Maybe I am just hyper sensitive because I am trying for a VBAC but I think she's basically setting herself up for failure and I just think it's absolutely ridiculous to induce because of someone's vacation schedule there is no other medical reason for the induction!
Re: Inducing for non medical reasons
I actually don't think it's that uncommon. When I gave birth to DS on Christmas Eve, it felt like we had the whole maternity ward to ourselves. The nurses told us that a lot of women were induced before Christmas so they didn't have Christm
NO I would not do that. I'd rather have a substitute OB deliver me. Also this is why at my previous and current practices you rotate through a few different people so you're not dependent on one. I knew I was delivering close to xmas last time and I di

I was induced with both kids, neither really medically indicated. Nate was 42 weeks and they wanted him out, but I'm sure he would have eventually come on his own. That ended in csection and I said I would never be induced again. My new OB

For non-medical, no.
I was induced with O at 41 weeks on the dot due to elevated BP. After 4 days of bedrest my BP was still climbing, so they asked that we move forward with an induction. Although it took awhile-about 36 hours-I ha
