GTKY: Contacts/Eyewear

If you wear glasses, do you normally go with contacts or stick with the specs?

For those of you who do not need glasses(lucky!), have you ever had colored contacts just for funsies?

Re: GTKY: Contacts/Eyewear

  • I was just talking with a friend and we were saying how we HATE contacts. With me, I would rather stick with my glasses(they hid the bags under my eyes quite well) and I HATE the feeling of the contact on my eye. I have no issue with putting them in but t

  • I wear glasses. Have since 2nd grade. I had contacts on high school but one summer I got a piece of hay under the contact. So I had to wear glasses while my eye recovered and have not really got back onto cobtqcts. I do wear them for vacation and swimming

  • I have both. Currently wearing glasses cuz my stupid eye lid but I much prefer contacts. I hate how I look in glasses. I have had them since I was 11 and have been self conscious about them for almost 19 years.

  • I also have both. For years I wore contacts every day, but I have always had a hard time finding ones that didn't irritate my eyes. It seems like since I got pregnant I have not been up for having contacts in. I have been wearing my glasses almost ever

  • I do not need glasses.  I hate things touching my eye so I don't even attempt.  I am that person who needs 30 minutes and an entire bottle of eye drops when I get an irritated eye... and it still doesn't get in there.

  • I wear glasses. I tried contacts for a while, but I have astigmatism and in the late 90's there was not a lot of options for contacts if you had that.  I found they dried my eyes out too much and would spin making my vision unpredictable. </p

  • No glasses here unless you count sunglasses. I have eyes that are sensitive to light. I do wear contacts at Halloween though.

  • I don't wear glasses or contacts. I don't like things touch my eyes or anywhere near my eyes. I can't even do mascara or eye liner (on the very rare occasion that I wear any makeup) without my eye tearing up. kind of defeats the purpose :).

  • I've needed glasses since the 2nd grade, but have been wearing contacts since 6th grade. I just hate how I look in glasses. I see VERY poorly but can't get LASIK, according to my eye doctor, which sucks.
  • Glasses in 2000 for college. Only needed them during class. My vision perpetually got worse so I was a full time contact wearer in 2001 till now. Contemplating LASIK though in the future. Sick of spending money on contacts......thankful that insurance cov
  • I got glasses back in high school & had to wear them when I drove, sat in class, etc. My eyes eventually got worse & worse, & I needed to wear glasses everywhere. Got contacts but my eyes are so sensitive & so it was a hit or miss if I
