  The houses on this side of town don't have basements because we have a gazillion ponds. Yep, ponds. We all know what that means.

  That's the worst!  FX that the water doesn't come inside.

  My parents' old house used to flood on the ground floor (no basement) and it was AWFUL.  No insurance coverage.  Just a lot of hassle and cleanup and mess

  Yeah its a lot of water. What's sad is there are city drains on both sides of my yard that are under that water. Backyard looked the same. And we aren't in a flood zone.
