  My 3 year old DS helps clean up at home and school. His teachers do comment though that he's one of the few kids who is good at helping. One thing we found helpful is instead of saying "let's clean up all of these toys", we focus on one thing at a time

  DS is used to helping clean up from DC, but we always sing the clean-up song, help him, and try to turn it into a game (who can find all the red legos, who can clean the fastest, etc.).  He also knows we have to put away one thing before we take out
