i love the way "s" looks but I had a friend who named her daughter Elisabeth and got so annoyed by the constant misspelling, she legally changed a month later! to Elizabeth!
Elizabeth! That's my name and I much prefer it with a z to and s. I read Elisabeth as Eli-ssss-abeth, as opposed to Eli-zzz-abeth, and say them as such.
To me, Elizabeth is both prettier on the tongue and easier to
I am with a "z". I have a friend who's middle name is with an "s", we pronounce them differently. I think it depends on the pronounciation that you want.
Re: Elizabeth spelling ?
With a Z-- just so you don't have to worry about misspellings.

I have an Elizabeth.
Why? Because she is named after my grandmother.

I think the fact that in the title you spelled it Elizabeth should show you the most common way of spelling it.
I agree that Elisabeth looks softer and sweet... but will be misspelled.

I am an Elizabeth, so I prefer that one, naturally.
Depends on how you are going to pronounce it - E-liz-a-beth or E-lis-a-beth
