How many shower guests?

When people find out that 41 people are coming to my baby shower, they often comment that that's a lot. Both my mom and DH's mom are one of seven children, which makes for a lot of aunts and cousins, so 41 doesn't seem like a terribly high number to me.

Just curious how many guests other May Bumpies had or are anticipating at their showers?

Mine is this Saturday and my sister said there will be 53. Just my mom, sisters, SILs and nieces are over 20 people though.

All three sides of my immediate family are small. I had two showers and each shower had 9 people. ETA: that included close friends. Not everyone invited was able to come.

Good lord those are large showers, but totally to be expected with big families. My shower had 18 attendees - a mix of family and close friends.

If it were all one shower, mine would be a LOT!

The one my parents threw was maybe 13?

I had to split my party into two because there are so many people, the FI has about 50 family members and thats not including church friends lol

My shower is this weekend and we sent out about 70 invites. We have a large family so that's pretty normal for us. Plus I'm just having one shower...not a separate shower for friends only.

60 invites went out, and I had right at 40 show up. Almost all that attended were family, with about 5 of my friends.

My hostesses (one member of my family, and one from DH's) just did one big shower instead of separate family shower

I had 50 + family and friends. I think 40 is a good number especially when you have a lot of family and friends who want to celebrate your new arrival.

We are having around 30-40 people, that doesn't seem like a lot to me. I have a big family and that's not even close to everyone.

Big family over here too. There ended up being about 50 women at my shower. Although it seems like a lot, it worked better for us than having multiple showers.

I think it depends on social circles really. With DD, we had 70. And I am one of those second shower ladies (gasp) and we still had 30. I hacked away best as I could at the list and we still had people after this shower that were bummed they didn't get in

I invited 72 people as my husband is from a HUGE family and I didn't want to split them up from my small group of friends and tiny family. We expected 50 but ended up with about 45.

We had about 30 of family and friends. All of my side of the family is out of state and didn't attend (except my mom flew in) so it was pretty much just my friends and DH's family.

We had 70 people at my shower....it was my friends, my mom's side, his mother's, and his stepmother's. It was a lot of people and the room definitely got hot when I started opening presents! But it was great to see everyone!
