Who to see for medication adjustment and therapy?

Can a therapist prescribe medication? I thought a friend said the therapist had a nurse practitioner prescribe her meds.  I am currently on Wellbutrin but would also like to talk to someone as I feel I have more anxiety than depression.  Who would I see a therapist, psychologist or psychiatrist

    A psychiatrist can prescribe meds, or you could talk to your GP.  A psychologist can not.

    Would a GP help me with anxiety questions? My ob gave me the Wellbutrin wasn't sure if I needed a specialist

    I think you need to see a therapist AND a psychiatrist. Psychiatrists deal with meds and therapists deal with ... well, therapy.

    I think it depends on how much you trust your GP.  I LOVE mine; he works with me and is comfortable trying different options. He spoke with my therapist (who I also really like) and we found something that works for me.

    I'm a licensed counselor and here is my suggestion.  Counselors and psychologists cannot prescribe meds but they do know a lot about them.  It's great if your therapist and doctor are talking about what they think is a good fit for you in ter
