What To Expect with Beta

Ok I know you ladies are the information super highway for reproduction.  My first beta is tomorrow and another on Friday.  Since I am  in GA and my RE is in FL he just wrote the order and told me to have a lab here do it.  The lab said it will have the first Beta result (and estrogen /progeesterone checked) on friday and the rsult from Fridays would be in on tues.  They wont tell me the numbers I haave to call my RE to get them.  Anyone know what to expect with Beta.  What is a good range?  Are theey expected to be double for the second test?  I just like to know what I should be expecting? Oh and luck wont hurt. Smile

(Thanks to Liz for paws for her little tip)  I will be honest I have taken more HPT then I needed to lol.  The line is lighter than I would like but even the digital one said pregnant  lol. Yeah at this point I just want to make sure it is still there.  It has become part of my morning routine.  11dp3dt

Re: What To Expect with Beta

  • Really sucks that you have to wait for Friday to get results from Wednesday labs!!  Don't worry, I have also been POAS and will continue to do so until I run out of tests.  My Beta was 166 on Monday morning and line was very light on that day.&n

  • I agree, waiting sucks. Did you order those amazon cheapies? Just wondering if that's the tip you mean! :)

As for betas, you shouldn't get too caught up in the first number. It's more important to understand the doubling time. And sometimes they

  • I'm having my first beta tomorrow too!! But I've been getting negative results all week. I'm hoping the blood test proves the hpt wrong!! GL to you!
  • Do you have any other lab that you can choose? Or a local RE that will do it? My RE and the lab (Quest Diagnostics) both get the results the same day, usually within 3 hours. I am in a different time zone than FIRM so I have to have it done early so th

  • It's more about the second beta and how your doubling time is. There is such a wide range of "normal"...it's ridiculous. I work in a lab and I believe 25-4000 is our range for 4 weeks pregnant. It really depends on the person. So, try not to focus on your
