I went in this morning for my hysteroscopy to remove polyps and scar tissue. They also found that I DID have a septate and that was removed as well.
So, as my siggy indicates, my uterus was found to be Y shaped when I had my HSG last August. My RE just said he didn't think it needed to be explored further. I was so green to the whole fertility stuff at the time I didn't think anything of it. Then when I got pregnant the next month, it completely left my mind. But once I lost our second child in 5 months, it quickly reemerged.
I told my OB I wanted an MRI or 3d Ultrasound or something to rule out a septate. When they did the ultrasound, that's when they found the polyps and scar tissue. My OB and the tech weren't sure if there was a septate or not. The RE was adamant he didn't believe it was a septate or biocorunate. He even said that again this morning before the surgery.
It's frustrating. Why wouldn't he look into this initially? Shouldn't it be common practice if one has an abnormally shaped uterus to do that? Is it not? What has other's experiences been?
The doctor told my husband after the procedure that the septate wasn't the cause of the miscarriage and that it was the Trisomy. But...he doesn't necessarily know that. (I hadn't seen my RE since I graduated at 8 weeks). And I Know that I'll never know for sure and I'll always kind of wonder. I know that more than likely it was the Trisomy.
*sigh* It sucks. But I'm glad this is over. I feel good about moving forward and starting to try again soon. DH & I are moving back home to Missouri next month, so we'll be seeing a new RE, which I'm thankful for. Because I think I would be switching anyway. Or is that unreasonable??
