Clearly I am reading into everything I feel my body do at this point since I am a FTM, anxious, and have no idea what to expect- I apologize in advance if these seem like dumb questions! ![]()
1. Does everyone have a bloody show? Can it happen during labor or is it always before labor?
2. I know lower menstrual like cramping is normal at this point (38 weeks and some change) but when it starts to feel like the cramping is coming in a sequence, does that mean it could possible turn into real contractions? Also, is it possible for contractions to make only part of your stomach hard, or will the whole thing be hard when it's the real deal?
3. I lost my mucous plug yesterday/ today (gross) and now the cramping is more noticeable, i take it that is normal because my body is doing something?
I am a little paranoid because when i was 32 weeks I had to stay the night in LD due to back pain and active contractions. I wasn't even aware I was having contractions 2-3 minutes apart until the nurse ran in and asked me if I was okay, and asked how much pain I was in- I was just uncomfortable and chalked it up to BH. So of course now I am nervous that when the real thing comes I will down play what is actually going on!
Sorry again, my What to expect book only answers so much haha!
Re: Probably a dumb FTM question but curious!
Not dumb at all!
1. As far as I know, your bloody show can happen before or during labour. Mine happened during, both times.
2. I have no idea. With both girls, my water broke without me ever feeling a single contraction (before or after -
I never had a bloody show nor lost my mucous plug.
All of my contractions felt like period cramps. They never changed location or anything... just really bad, horrible period cramps.
if you can time them and
1. I had some bloody discharge that started the morning I went into labor, not a whole lot though.
2. I had a ton of false labor for a few weeks before the real thing. You will definitely know when it is real. The contractions become painful. Min
These are not dumb questions by any means, in fact I am very glad you asked- since I was wondering about question 1 and 2 myself!
Thanks for asking, and thanks to everyone else for responding!
