At my OB appointment today, I mentioned that sometimes I get a little stressed out when the baby has slower/quiet days. I had felt a ton of movement this morning but the nurse put me on a fetal monitor for a 20-minute NST which came back great.
I expressed to my OB that now that I'm getting closer to the due date I do have days where I feel nervous about movement even though I do kick counts and she tends to be most active in the evening and at night.
My OB ordered weekly NST for me. I asked her if she thought it was too much for me since I'm not a high-risk pregnancy but she said that it's never a bad idea to monitor for fetal movement especially if I have days where she seems to be more quiet. I do have an MTHFR mutation but that's my only real risk factor in pregnancy that I know of.
Does anyone else do these? It will just be 20 mins once a week for me for the next 6 weeks. I think it will provide me with a lot of reassurance, I was just surprised she ordered it since I have some days where the baby is having a dance party in there and other days where she seems to slow down a lot.
