MSPI and bad reaction to Prevacid Solutabs

My son is about 3 1/2 months old and is MSPI. He has also been on meds for reflux since about 4 weeks of age. When the zantac stopped working about 2 weeks ago, the pedi switched him to Prevacid solutabs. When I found out the solutabs contain a small amount of medical grade lactose in them, immediately called the pedi to see if this would be an issue with my son's MSPI and she stated that it should not affect him since lactose is not the same as milk protein. Now that we're almost 2 weeks into using the Prevacid, it seems like my son is spitting up and evwn projectile vomiting at times...more than he ever has. I feel absolutely horrible seeing my baby spit up and puke like this. I'm sure the pedi will try to say that its not the meds causing this, but I honestly can't find another reason for it. He's never vomited this much. Anyone else have a LO with MSPI that reacted badly to the solutabs? I'm at a loss here..I hate to keep switching meds like this and I just want my baby to be happy and healthy. TIA for any insight!

  • Thanks for the replies, ladies. Sorry its taken so long for me to get back to this thread, but I actually started DS on probiotics after our visit to the pedi last week. I told her the prevacid only made things worse, so we put him pn the probiotics and h
