Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Disney...too young?

We are suppose to be taking a family vacation soon to Florida and will be driving to Disney for a day trip. DD1 is 9 years old and DD2 will be about a month away from her second birthday. Their grandparents are going to Florida but not to Disney so they were going to watch the baby while everyone else went to Disney. BUT, I thought it might be fun to bring the baby and briefly considered it but we will probably not. My MIL is acting like I'm a maniac for even considering bringing the baby. So sorry for the rambling, I guess my question is, if you had the option of taking lo, would you? Thanks!

  • I hope not.  We're going to Disney in June, and LO will be 20 months old then. We're going for a family reunion...but according to my sister, she took our niece when she was about the same age, and she said even though our niece won't remember beside

  • We went to the Magic Kingdom with the girls at the end of January. DD2 was almost 14 months. She loved the rides and would get excited every time she saw one. She also got excited about the characters in the park, even though she has no idea who any of th

  • We just bought yearly passes last month. We have been taking DD once a week. I have a lot of friends that are Disney families though. Meaning they have been taking their kids since they were babies and such. I only ran into a few issues.

  • I think it all depends on what you want out of the day. The baby more than likes won't remember the experience and probably won't be able to go on a lot of the rides, so someone will have to sit with him or her. As long as you are okay with sitting out

  • My parents took the family to Disney when we were like 8, 5, 2 (me), and 1. I don't remember going, but they said we had a good time.

I don't really see the big deal, especially for one day. Lots of people take babies to Disney. I would think it

  • I've been doing a lot of research on it, there's ride share, and flash passes, and I hear the little ones really love things like a Bug's Life and Toon Town...we're going to Disneyland...so I'm not sure they have the same think at the Magic Kingdom...but

  • Definitely not too young!!  We started taking DD at 18 months.  She loved it!  Babies can ride most rides with the exception of the few large rides (roller coasters, etc.)  They have baby care stations at each of the parks - pla

  • I'd take LO at least part of the time. We took DS to Legoland and he had fun even though he couldn't go on a lot of rides. You just have to set realistic expectations, especially concerning naps, what LO will be able to do, what you will/won't be able

  • We love Disney and have a trip planned to drive down to Orlando (a 16 hr drive) ahh! this November. The girls will be only 22 months old.  I don't think it's too young. Maybe too young to fully appreciate everything there but there is a ton that they

  • You're NEVER to young for Disney!!! We took our son when he was 7 months old and he had a blast! He was able to go on a lot of rides as well so it was fun for mommy too! Take her and have fun! You'll look back on pictures and wish she was there if you lea
  • I do not like Disney and do not consider that a vacation at all.  So we will only take DD when she is old enough to enjoy it.  That would be much older than 2.  If you have the grandparents offering to babysit, I would take them up on th

  • Nearly two is not too young for Disney! We took DD when she was 4 months, 14 months, and are going again next week at 19 months. There's plenty for infants and toddlers to do. They can go on any ride without a height requirement, so basically everything e
  • I keep trying to convince DH that we should take DD for her 2nd bday, but his excuse is she won't remember. My first Disney Trip was my second birthday and judging by the pics, I had a blast. Hoping to convince him while we are still living decently close

  • We to DS at 14 months in February so the weather was GREAT but it was more crowded than I expected. I think that if we went now, we would have a harder time just b/c he is much more active, but I would still shoot for it. It's all in your expectations

  • I live in S FL and am taking LO in two wks.  She will be 14 months old.  We are staying in a Disney hotel, so we are going to go early, go back to the hotel for a swim, break, and nap, and then head back during the evening.

  • I would concentrate on it being a special outing for just you and your 9year old! They will enjoy the one on one time with you as parents and wont have to add the extra stress of a toddler. Plus the 9 year old will be interested in different things tha
