Food Allergy

Veganionase or Earth's Balance Mindless Mayo?

My daughter has an egg allergy, along with peanut and sesame seeds. I am trying to figure out the food situation for her party--since we want everything to be allergen friendly. (The positive thing is she doesn't react with cross contamination with egg & sesame--she was eating them both daily in her foods when we realized she was allergic).

I am thinking the easiest way to go for her party is to have cold cuts (corned beef and turkey platter) to make sandwiches. One platter of cheeses, one of cold cuts and one of "safe" breads. The only problem i am struggling with is dressings/toppers for sandwiches. Mustard is fine, but we typically use russian dressing which is egg based.

I have never tasted non-egg mayonnaise, so if you have, can you recommend which one would be the closest substitute (where hopefully guests may not even know there isn't real mayo). Or at least if in russian dressing, it is disguised a little.

Thanks!

  • Original

This is what I use, and I Love it! DS has a egg, milk and nut allergy. I use it instead of mayo myself and I can't tell the diff

  • Spectrum Canola Mayo is good too and I don't think it contains soy. I got it at Wegman's.
  • i personally like the earths best most.  I'm not a fan of the processed soy products (like veganaise)
