Threatened abortion. It says on my checkout sheet from my OB. Can't they think of a better way to say "she's spotting, lets keep an eye on her"?Geez. Rant over.
Unfortunately in the medical world, this is pretty much the only term/reason why pregnant women spot when pregnant, even though there seems to also be a myriad of other reasons for it as well.
When I had my m/c my papers said "abortion" on them. I had a huge melt down over it and shouted at the nurse. Unfortunately, it's medical terms for a m/c.
Mc are coded as 640.03 AB threatened There is also codes for complete, habitual, incomplete, missed, and recurrent. A dc in the office I work in they say they are getting rid of the products of conception they rearly use the word abortion.
