What could it be?

My first time posting on this board- so Hello Everyone!

My son is 3 months old and my mom had me call her. She said that his right eye started tearing quite a bit and he has white discharge coming out of it. It isnt pink or red and he isnt itching it, but he's not his usual happy self. I'm leaning towards a clogged tear duct, but I guess it could be pink eye too? I'm going to see how it is when I get out of work. What do you ladies think? Have any of you experienced anything like that with your LO?

    DD had a goopy, watery eye for almost her entire 2nd month, then one day it was gone. I assumed clogged tear duct too.

    My guess would be a clogged tear duct.

    We had this at 2 months. We were told by the pedi to massage with a clean finger in a circular motion by the corner of the eye by the nose. It went away in 2 days.

    It could be related to seasonal allergies.  Everytime the pollen count is high in my area or a storm has just blown in, my LO gets a little goopy eye.  Just use a damp, clean cotton ball to wipe each eye several times a day when this occurs.&nbs

    Thanks Ladies. I did end up calling the pedi office. I was told it sounded like Viral conjunctivtis and to just use warm soaks every 2-3 hours. So that's what I've been doing and his eye seems much better.
