iPad + baby in a high chair = SMASH

I just want to whine for a second. I feed Alexander in his high chair facing me next to our kitchen island. I left my iPad slightly behind him on the counter and didn't even realize it. I went in the fridge to grab something and I heard a smash but thought he had thrown his cup so I didn't pay much attention. It wasn't until about 10 minutes later and we were cleaning up when I saw the iPad face down on the floor. I picked it up and shards of glass immediately started falling out. Not. Good. Needless to say, I guess I need to find a repair place and if they can't do it cheap, I'm going to have to buy a new one, which is really annoying and I didn't want to do that. I know, first world problems, but still.

The funny thing is, I'm not totally sure how it fell. I think it may have been a team effort between the baby and the dogs and none of them meant it. Alexander likes to push backward off the counter and the dogs sometimes nose in to get dropped food and move his high chair. There were some other papers on the counter and I think the baby pushed backward (with or without the help of the dogs), the papers pushed the iPad and it fell.

Ultimately, no matter what, I have an iPad with a shattered screen and I have learned a valuable lesson. :(

    On mobile, all I could see of the title of this post was iPad plus baby and I cringed before I opened it.

    Ugh... That really stinks :[

    Oh no. That sucks. : I'm seriously considering a lifeproof case for my iPad. I already have it on my iPhone. My Sil uses one in her special needs classroom. The kids throw it across the room and it survives!

    We have the Fisher Price case which actually works great. It's kind of a pain because you need to take the iPad out to charge it, but we haven't had any issues with DD yet.

    DH and I look silly using the iPad in the case, tho!

    So sorry... I keep worring about that happening. I try to keep him away from electronics. My dad is going to mail out his 1st additon ipad for LO to have. I have alredy started looking into cases.

    I had a pretty solid case on it but apparently it wasn't enough! I think it fell at one of those magical angles where the case just couldn't protect it. I already ordered one of those foam rubber Koshi Kid Cases for whatever future iPad that I end up w
