Trouble TTC

Hoping for some advice

Hello All -

Based on the 1 year mark I don't yet qualify for Trouble TTC but I am hoping you can shed some light on what might be my next steps to maximize my next appointment.

A brief history: We stopped taking BC in August 2012 (Almost 9 months ago). Since then I have had only 1 very brief menses - not normal in any sort of way, but blood was present (vs spotting), this occurred mid November. Went to OB in January as instructed. Basically given the brush off despite a previous clinical diagnosis of PCOS and was basically walked through what PCOS pearles are. Told me it could take a year to get pregnant, call in April if no menses. Tested thyroid - normal. I now have a prescription for a 10 day provera prescription. If it induces menses I am to come in at 3 days after first day of bleeding to have my hormone levels checked. If no menses after 10 days I have been told to make an appointment.

  • If I do get menses after 3 days are there any other tests I should ask them to conduct other than hormone testing?
  •  If I don't get menses after 10 days, based on your experiences what would be appropriate next steps?

Thanks for any and all insight/knowledge.

Sorry for the lack of abbreviations - I have the glossary of 'terms' downloaded on my other computer!

  • It can take up to a year to become normal after bc.  I know that feels like a lame answer, but I'd take this time to nourish your body and soul, and hopefully af will come.  But if you feel like you are getting brushed off from you dr, go see a
