DD strawberry patch advice

Ok, I need some advice. J has a strawberry patch on her cheek, and she has taken to picking at it. Tonight as we were rocking to bed, I saw she was picking, and moved her hand away, and in turn covering my finger with blood from the apparent scab she picked off. Strawberry patches have lots of blood vessels and by nature bleed a ton. It freaked me out, and I ran into the bathroom, calling DH to come quickly. Scared me, scared him, scared her. Any tips on how to get her to stop picking? She seems to do it absentmindedly.

    Can you trim her fingernails super short and file them so they're dull? Other than that, and correcting her when you see her doing it, I'm not sure what else. Have you talked to the pedi to see if removing it is an option?

    I didn't even consider her nails. I will check them out tomorrow.

    As for the pedi, I am going to make a call in the morning I hope she won't have to have it removed because it will require surgery based on where it is, but if that is what

    Maybe a bandage? Perhaps those round ones? Sorry if this is lame. Just trying to think of something to help. Poor baby.

    All these suggestions are good. I would try a bandage, but if she's like DD, she may rip it off. We've been told by a dermatologist that they usually leave them alone. However, when my 8 year old cousin was a baby she had one on her cheek and they lasered
