Ok help. My 3 month old has done this since he was a nb but i'm just tired of hearing, "he'll be fine". maybe he will but he scares the hell out of me. Often he literally chokes on his spit or perhaps mucus and not necessarily after a feeding. For example, last night he wakes up around 3sih not crying but just sort of making noise "hey mom, i'm awake". (this also happens when he's crying too/worked himself up) So, i'm walking in the room and right as I get to him he's literally choking. No air is coming in or out and he is turning bright red. I pick him up immediately and whack him on the back which helps every time. My concern is what if i'm not there. he did it again this morning in the RNP while I was brushing my teeth. he was wide awake and just literally starts choking. I am terrified. My doc said she could give reflux meds but it won't' stop the regurgitation (if that's what this is) it'll just take the pain away. he doesn't seem to be in pain. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. I am kinda freaking out. I lay awake at night terrified and when I leave for work it's the same.
