Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Waking too early!

Ugh LO goes to bed between 6:30-7 pm. She does sleep through the night pretty well, minimal intervention needed if at all but she is waking now at 5:30 am. Does anyone else's LO do this? If so, do they go back to sleep? Is this just her official wake up time now?

Any tips on sleeping longer? Also, am I just being a big whiner and I need to get over it since she STTN? Thanks ladies!

  • My little one does that too.... But she does go back to bed after daddy feeds her. Not sure how old your LO is, but when I brought this up to my ped (she was 6 months at the time) He said that was awesome sleep habits, but if I wanted her to sleep later t

  • My LO does the same.  I usually let him fuss around in his crib for 15 to 20 minutes to see if he'll go back to sleep.  Most days he does, some days (like today) he doesn't.

  • We put our LO to sleep at 10 to 10:30 and he sleeps until 9.. So that's about the same amount of time. With his 2 30 to 60 minute naps I wouldn't expect him to sleep much more than that.

If you want them to sleep later, I'd say put them to be

  • A later bedtime does not work for my DS; he still wakes up around the same time in the morning, and is usually fussier during the day because he didn't get enough sleep that night.

  • Thanks ladies! I will just suck it up! We are usually up at 6 anyway so it's not a huge deal. I DO count my lucky stars, getting 5-6 hrs of sleep (for me) is amazing now.

  • We use the Moms on Call method for our guy and one of the signs they say to look for to make changes to your baby's schedule (feeding amounts/time, naps, etc...) is this.  Our guy started waking early on his last schedule and we adjusted to the next
