Sippy cup issues

Hello,

My daughter is 8 months and I have been trying to get her started on a sippy cup. All the ones I have chosen have the safety seal and the liquid doesn't come out unless they obviously suck on the sippy cup. Since she is used to bottles, she doesn't understand quite yet that she needs to suck rather than wait for some to drip out THEN suck.

Are there any sippy cups out there that are very very generic that will just drip the liquid out when turned upside down? I wanted to start her on one of those first just so that she understands the concept, then I can give her the other ones.

Also, did anyone else have this problem? What did you find did and didn't work? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

  • I agree with the straw cup!  He loves it and figured it out really quickly once I squeezed some water into his mouth.
  • I had a really hard time transitioning my little guy to a sippy cup but finally found that the Born Free trainer cup worked.  Had I known better at the time, I would have just transitioned straight to a straw.  I introduced the Lollacup as his f
