Should I Take the Progesterone?

So my doctors office called this morning and told me to go in for ANOTHER draw today, (my HCG was in the 14,000's on Saturday, progesterone 23) and I said no.  I can't go through this beta hell anymore.  

Anyway.  Question.  They called in Prometrium for me but I haven't picked it up yet.  Do you think I should take it even though my progesterone hasn't dropped below 20?  In my other two pregnancies my levels danced around from 35 to 25 depending on the draw, but this time got down to 22, then back up to 23 as of my last draw which I know are perfectly normal levels.   

Should I take it just to be safe?  Is it totally unnecessary?  It won't hurt anything will it?  I got P17 shots during my other two pregnancies but those were started at 16 weeks and were for PTL stuff so I'm assuming they aren't the exact same thing?

    If you think it will make you feel better, I think you should go ahead and take it. I never had my progesterone level checked after my first beta (and I don't even know what it was!), so I can't comment on your levels. Additional progesterone shouldn't

    If it would give you peace of mind I would take it. FWIW my RE wouldn't let me off progesterone until it was 30 which took 12 weeks for me.

    It's my understanding that it doesn't matter if your progesterone is high, as long as it's not low you are good. I was very paranoid during my pregnancy (like most of us) and felt very uncomfortable stopping crinone at 8 weeks like my RE told me to. My OB

    That's a great beta!  I know what you mean about being tired of it, but I always err on the side of caution (Better safe than sorry.)  Even when I think the evidence is shaky, I don't ever want to regret following protocol.  Congratulations

    Take it.  It doesn't hurt to have more than you need, but if it drops too low and you lose the pregnancy you'll never forgive yourself for NOT taking it, right?

    Congrats, I'm so glad to hear that last beta was so awesome!  Like PP's, I would say take it.  It is worth the peace of mind, because it won't hurt anything to take it, but could hurt if your progesterone were low.  That's what I would do.&

    I think the extra progesterone should be fine. Hope you are starting to relax and get some rest again!

    Personally, I'd take it.  There is no harm in doing it and I'd rather just be on the safe side.

    That is a great beta! I am so glad you put your foot down about getting any more. :) Taking the progesterone won't hurt anything. If it will make you feel better about things then I would take it. You just need to accept it, you are good and pregnant!

    Holy $hit I picked it up and took the first pill a little over an hour ago and I'm am extremely dizzy.  Maybe this isn't such a good idea afterall!  Thank God the kids are napping!

    Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

    sometimes I get moments of dizziness when taking hormones...pretty sure it lists that as a side effect.  It was never consistently dizzy though. 

    do they want you on something else instead or just off progesterone now?

    Are you feeling any better? I only took PIO which made me feel sick, but not dizzy. Maybe you are just feeling anxiety? You've been under a lot of stress. I was so anxious during my fresh cycle that I blacked out after injections one night.
