Arrowhead or Banner Thunderbird

Hi! We are on our 4th and last baby and we are fairly new the Arizona. We currently live in the Far West Valley (Goodyear), but I am willing to drive at max 40 minutes to have a great doctor and hospital experience. I have been high risk with each pregnancy, so I need a doctor that is going to provide great care, and take the extra precautions. I have an appt scheduled tomorrow with Arrowhead Women's Center, as there ratings were much better than all the other OB/GYN in my area. However they deliver at both Arrowhead and Banner Thunderbird.

In Houston (Where we moved from) the Hospitals almost competed with each other for the extra attention- one hospital gives you a robe to take home, fresh flowers delivered, and a mini celebration (cake).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Either one is great. My experience at Arrowhead was a good one. I'm on my third pregnancy and I'm going to be delivering at Thunderbird hospital this time becasue its closer to where I live.

    I used to see Dr Folkestad at Arrowhead OB/GYN not sure if that's the same as Arrowhead Women's Center, but he was amazing and delivered at Arrowhead. No complaints about the hospital or staff! I also have a few relatives who have delievered at Thunderbird which is probably the more popular choice, but I'm not sure if it's better.

    If you are high risk I would recommend Thunderbird.  Although Arrowhead is good, Thunderbird is more equipt to offer a higher level of care should complications arise.  I actually work for Arrowhead hospital but due to my high risk status, I'm delivering at Thunderbird instead just to be safe.

    Don't go to Arrowhead just don't. My aunt was delivering there and a nurse mistakenly gave her a blood thinner her baby became distressed no one told he dr baby died and they made her keep the dead baby inside three days because of the blood thinner. I had surgery there and got an infection had to be hospitalized and received terrible care. It's hit and miss on getting a good nurse. Also another aunt had a hysterectomy there and they closed her up with a surgical instrument still inside. And while she was in recovery the patient she shared a room with was also in recovery after losing her baby during delivery. Thunderbird would be my first and only choice. I just delivered at Banner Estrella and one of my nurses used to work at Arrowhead she had nothing but bad to say about it. Also Ive heard Thunderbird brings the parents a nice congrats meal after baby arrives that's just a plus. Ha
