Preterm contractions; negative ffn test

Hi all! I know I haven't posted here often...so I will introduce myself. Hi my name is Carrie. Now that that is out of the way I was hoping I could get some words of wisdom on how to deal with preterm contractions I'm exhausted. For the past three weeks I have been contacting off and on. No dilation as of last Friday, but my cervix had softened. Also I have received two negative ffn tests, which I am very excited about! My question is how do I deal with being so darn uncomfortable all day. Today I have been contracting since 11 am 2 to 5 minutes apart at work....I tried walking every so often and drinking a lot of water. But I am at a loss as to what else to try...:/

Re: Preterm contractions; negative ffn test

  • Are you reporting all of this to your OB? I don't know what a ffn test is, but If I were having contractions and a softening cervix, I imagine I'd be lying down with a bunch of water. best of luck!

  • Talk to your doctor. He/she should be able to recommend something. I don't know what an FFN test is, but if you are contracting and your cervix is softening then more needs to be done.

  • I am in a similar situation - I have been contracting a lot, and after PROM and pre-term birth with my first, I ended up in the hospital two weeks ago (24 weeks) with contractions every 2-3 minutes. Already on procardia and progesterone, I ended up with a
