Need advice on timing!

Okay so here's the story...I'm due Aug 18 and my SIL is due Nov 2. I live in the south and she lives in the Midwest. My shower is on June 22nd and she'll be about 20 weeks so she's coming for sure. I offered to help her husbands sister do her shower because we hadnt heard anyone else talking about throwing one for her. I am going to be contributing money mostly as it is kinda hard for me to plan certain things when I live across the country. So, my question is...when to have her shower? I am going to have to fly there after the baby is born so but I don't want her to be too far along at her own shower for my convenience. Is having it 6 weeks before she's due okay? That would put me at traveling 5 weeks post partum, if my LO comes on her due date? My DH is in the Army and doesn't get to see his family too often so we figured him and the baby would come with me up north for the weekend. So what are your thoughts or opinions on me traveling after giving birth with a newborn and her having a shower that late? We're going to have to fly b/c DH can't take time off since he's in the service. We'll only get to go Friday afternoonSunday evening. TIA

I'm just getting one niece or nephew, no twins so no risk as of now that she'll go early. She seemed super understanding when we were talking about it before I decided to throw it myself. She had brought it up because she said she hopes I can make it but

I'm having my last shower at 35w. At 34w that gives her plenty of time to wash things and get organized. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd be more concerned about taking a 5 week old on an airplane!
