Making your own baby food?

I really would like to make my own baby food, and I'd like to hear from those of you who have experience here. I want to make sure I am getting quality gear to make it as fast and easy as possible- I want to make sure I have time to spend with my baby instead of cooking baby food over a hot stove and then pureeing it in a mediocre processor which only gets the food half-blended. Gear includes storage, processors, etc. Anything that has to do with getting started making my own baby food! TIA. :)

  • Also, I steam my stuff using a Pampered Chef micro cooker in the microwave. I know that kills a lot of the nutrients, but food at this stage is for practice and fun. Babies should still be receiving most of their nutrients from BM/formula.

  • I used our regular Cuisinart blender - nothing fancy.  The one thing that I found indispensible though was the product Baby Cubes for storing the purees.  They are BPA free and are individual cubes with lids that sit in an ice cube tray for e
