My sig other wants Cobie or Cobi or Koby for a girls name, but we can not decide on a middle name for the life of us.... I want the name to sound strong and independent. He has suggested mid names like Ray, Lee, and Jo. We are not southern. I like SuLynn.... both of our mothers mid names together. Please help with some ideas. Thank you!
Re: Fight over Girl middle name
how about "Peach"?
I like the mn's Lee & Rae for girls
I don't think you have to be southern to choose a one syllable middle name.
I would do Cobie Lynn or Cobie Elizabeth.
I'm not a fan of using Cobie for a girl. Colbie is slightly better, but still stretching it. And I would definitely avoid gender neutral MNs if you are going to use Cobie.
I don't like SuLynn. If anything
Okay, that is just awful.
Cobie is a boy's name- and doesn't look right anyways.
Any SuLynn? Really?
If you are going to honor your mothers do two middle names Sue Lynn- don't make some

I don't think Coby sounds strong and independent, if that's what you're going for. The obvious thing to do here is to name your daughter Sue (Susan, Susanna, Suzanne) Lynn. Strong, independent, not ridiculous-sounding.
Sulynn makes me think sullen. It is horrible sorry. I know you want to honor two people but mashing them together isn't working. Also Coby/Colby are names I just don't understand. Kobe Beef? Colby cheese. Coby is a nn for Jacob or Jacoby I can't see it
My friend named her girl Colbie, and she has more spunk in her little finger than many grown women have in their entire bodies!
I am not as keen on the SuLynn (sp), but even Sue alone might be cute. You will figure it out!
Thank you ladies for your responses.
I was reaching out to maybe get some suggestions, not bashing on names we already thought of and thurned down. I prefer our baby name not to sound southern (no offense if you are southern,
i like pearl.
