Colds Helping them sleep

Any thing you've done to help your LO sleep when they're really congested that works well? Do you think propped up on a pillow works? He's really struggling to sleep for this one :.

    Have you tried benadryl? It helps with the congestion, and relaxes them enough to allow them to sleep for extended amounts of time.

    *Saline and sucker right before bed

    * humidifier

    * vicks on feet

    * Prop bed at an angle

     

    These all "help" but my guy still has trouble sleeping when he's stuffed up.

    Steam helps, so I steam up the bathroom and have him play in there before bed.  This will loosen things up.  Then sucker (I swear by the NoseFrida, it is awesome).  I have also put baby vicks on the bottoms of his feet.

    -Trying to suck mucous out as much as possible with the snot sucker.

     -run the humidifier

    nasal drip...you know a saline solution that loosens up the mucus and drains it.  Also a humidifier, and maybe putting a pillow under the mattress to prop them up a bit so that his/her nose can drain while they sleep.

    If you do benedryl use childrens benedryl and get the dosage straight from your peditrician.

    If you use vicks use baby vicks. Regular vicks can make babies sick. It is known to make babies sick. I can not say this enough.
