I used to not think anything if people being "team green."
Now, thanks to spending some time on the Bump, when I see a shower invitation for a coworker or acquaintance who is "team green," I immediately assume they want "good" presents at their baby shower and expect their friends and family to buy "real" gifts for them instead of allowing them to buy cute outfits or whatever the heck they want to buy with their own money. It now seems super controlling and tacky to me, since reading post after post about people's materialistic reasons for being "team green"...gag!
Re: Team green...
If people want to buy you clothing for your shower, they are going to regardless of whether they know the gender or not. There is plenty of cut
You got me!!!!! Right after making the decision that MH and I didn't want to find out the sex of our child after having so much of the fun parts of TTC taken away from us due to infertility, the VERY NEXT thought for us was, "SCORE!!! Now w
Are you freaking serious?! I'm going to go ahead and call MUD here.
As a team green mom (who had a baby girl), I can assure you that "real gifts" never entered into the equation when my husband and I dec
Well for what it's worth...that's definitely not my intentions. I'm in it for the surprise in the end. I honestly don't carei if it's a boy or girl...I just want a healthy baby...not "good gifts". So, I don't fall in the category you're referring
I don't think that most couples that are team green think this way.

This is my 3rd baby, I won't be having a shower, and I'm Team Green. According to your logic I'm doing it for "good presents" at my non-existent shower? That doesn't make any kind of sense.
We were Team Green with our first baby too. Because we w
I am NOT team green and I dont personally understand how people can go through their entire pregnancy without finding out! BUT, I would NEVER think that team green people were doing this for the shower gifts?!?
Yes, getting neutral clothes
Lurker here for the most part. The way I interpretted the OP's post was, if she read on a shower invite that the PTB were Team Green, her first thought would be, "Okay, are you REALLY Team Green? Or are you just saying that because you think it mean
We were team green becuase I'd always wanted the delivery room surprise. People were amazed we made it the whole time without knowing. It was a surprise bonus as we didn't get a lot of clothes but got some more practical items for our baby

I missed the mark completely here.
The only time I saw "Team Green" I took it as the parents were going natural with baby stuff. They registered for things like bamboo cloth diapers, raw muslin swaddlers and organic baby wash. I got the or
Just wanted to add that if anyone actually DID decide to be "team green" for this reason, they could be in for a rude awakening. You will still get clothes. I went to a shower a few months back for a friend who didn't know the sex, and she
