DS was bed sharing and still does for about half of the night but I think we are starting to wake each other up too much. So we took the front off the crib since he could climb out of it and I've been working on him sleeping on his own and the last week or so he has done better. I usually rock him to sleep and still nurse him but he doesn't fall asleep nursing.
So what I have done is nurse him while rocking him then go lay him down awake and pat his back/hiney until he falls asleep. At first he didn't like it and would cry some - no tears, just verbal noises and he finally quit but now it is so cute it sounds like he hums so I guess that's the way he will relax.
And the fact that daycare is transitioning him to a nap mat instead of crip naps helps because he is getting used to it. I hope to get him to where I can just tuck him in but I know that is a way off. But I feel like this is a great start! I am so proud of him! If he wakes up after I've been asleep awhile I just put him in bed with me but I figure it is a start and at least getting him acclimated will help a lot.
Just wanted to share my experience with anyone that is considering switching. Oh, and so far he doesn't get out of bed he just cries so I don't think he realizes he can yet.

I need to order a rail but for now I put his anywhere chair we got him up next to his bed, but he doesn't move much so it isn't an issue. At least if he tries to climb that he has a soft spot to climb on - the bed rails would put him up higher if
