I used to not think anything if people being "team green."
Now, thanks to spending some time on the Bump, when I see a shower invitation for a coworker or acquaintance who is "team green," I immediately assume they want "good" presents at their baby shower and expect their friends and family to buy "real" gifts for them instead of allowing them to buy cute outfits or whatever the heck they want to buy with their own money. It now seems super controlling and tacky to me, since reading post after post about people's materialistic reasons for being "team green"...gag!

Well for what it's worth...that's definitely not my intentions. I'm in it for the surprise in the end. I honestly don't carei if it's a boy or girl...I just want a healthy baby...not "good gifts". So, I don't fall in the category you're referring
I don't think that most couples that are team green think this way.
